World's Longest Married Couple Celebrate 90 Years of Marital Bliss

Karam and Kartari with their family at the Midland Hotel, Bradfordkaram and Kartari Chand, 110 and 103 respectively, tied the knot in a traditional Punjabi ceremony in India on December 11, 1925, during the British Raj and moved to England 40 years later.

“It is a blessing to have been married and to have lived this long. Life and marriage is all about happiness, it is what is most important,” said Karam.
So, what’s their secret to long-lasting life and a happy marriage? Karam and Kartari have said that beyond eating a diet free of anything artificial, they both focus on doing three things: having no secrets, trying not to argue, and spending each day surrounded by family.
