Baby born with large amount of hair at Royal North Shore Hospital

You’ve got a cute baby when people stop you in the street just to get a look of your fadorable  munchkin . But for a Wahroonga family the amount of attention their little boy receives has gone to the next level.
Along with his natural good looks, Reuben Koon was born with so much hair it is literally stopping people in their tracks.
The 12-week-old’s hair is so long it can easily be styled into an ’80s punk mohawk, or comb-over style to keep it out of his eyes.
His brother Nathan is also follicly blessed.

“Everyone comments everywhere we go — literally everyone,” his mum Anita said.
“All the mums are envious. I’ve got friends who have 18-month-olds who are still bald.”
Reuben is already getting nicknames, such as Elvis, or being described as having a lion’s mane.
One of the most common questions Mrs Koon gets asked is if she had heartburn while she was pregnant — as it is thought women who have heartburn during pregnancy will give birth to babies with lots of hair.
Reuben attracts attention wherever he goes.

Mrs Koon did have heartburn during pregnancy, as she did with her first son Nathan, who was also born with a lot of hair.
And Mrs Koon said her mother had told her she had a mop of hair at birth.
With summer approaching, she is considering taking Reuben for his first haircut to keep him cool but, as with any mum, it’s a hard decision to cut off his locks.
